Galahs are social birds and you can house them with other parrots. But you must transfer bonded pairs to their own private aviary during breeding season. They don't destroy wood and you can use wooden frames in their aviary. But some birds may chew the wood so steel frames are a better option. Use a 0.7 inch (18 mm) wire netting to cover the frame. Keep checking the wires if your bird has managed to cut a small bit of wiring. In that case, change the wiring, as your bird will definitely work on making the hole bigger. The aviary should at least have a 16 feet (5 m) flying area. Besides this, it should also have perches. Provide a shelter for the aviary, as the Galahs cannot withstand extreme cold. Where you place the aviary is important. Galahs will be disturbed by the slightest noise especially during the breeding season. Place them in an open yet secluded area.
